Not a bad unit--but not outstand either. One of the grates was broken--but not covered under warranty due to time from ordering until unboxed. Some fool put a product label right above the controls--leaving a sticky residue that I'm still trying to decide how to remove.

Disappointed! Broken Center Grate

I eagerly awaited the arrival of this appliance. However, within 1 week of use, I found a significant crack in the center grate, which is designed to support the heavier pots. In looking online, this appears to be an issue with this particular appliance overall, as I™€™ve seen the same issue mentioned in other reviews. I made contact with Frigidaire customer service and was directed to a text communicator, with long wait gaps between each text. After 3 to 4 days of attempting to complete the same communication, nothing was accomplished as far as I can tell. The issue of the cracked center grate remains unresolved today and I feel stuck with a broken appliance. I would appreciate having this part replaced as soon as possible and at no cost to me, but there's no one to talk to about the issue. If Frigidaire ever makes this right, I will update my review.

I have used this cooktop for about 14 months.I really disliked this cooktop, pretty much from the first time I used it. It is horribly inefficient.Too much heat is wasted around the sides of a pot or pan and, if I turn the heat down, the flame is too low to effectively heat the pot and its contents. The handles of the pots invariably get so hot, I need to use heat pads to keep from being burned when I try to remove the pots. So much heat is wasted, the exhaust fan on the microwave above turns on automatically. I am convinced there is too much gap between the grate and the burners. Also, the knobs can be turned accidentally just by brushing against them. More than once, we have been alarmed by the smell of gas in the kitchen.

This cooktop was one of 3 I was looking at in that price range but after some research I settled on the Frigidaire.Excellent quality, sturdy, relatively light weight, all metal including the knobs, and so easy to install. Took me 30min and that's only because I had to loosen a stuck nut. I would definitely buy it again.

Replaced 25 year old Amana cooktop with Frigidaire Gallery

I was looking for a replacement to fit my cutout in my granite island and this Frigidaire fit perfectly plus had great reviews in my research. My old unit was 4 burners with a downdraft exhaust in the center. Now I have 5 burners and the center burner boils water very fast, like 6-7 minutes for a big pot for pasta water. The controls are precise and the flame is perfect. The finish, the controls and the heavy cast iron grates are top quality. I cook a lot. Mostly in cast iron pans and dutch ovens. I used my deep 12' for shrimp and sausage gumbo and could keep a gentle simmer even on the small burner. The other night I had the pasta water going on the big burner, a 10" pan to brown burger, another pot to cook rice and another skillet to saute vegetables all at the same time. I am impressed! Be aware, it is a lot hotter than what I was used to so it took a few cooks to get the flame just right as I go by the flame height rather than the numbers on the control dials. It cleans easily. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was I've only had it for three weeks. Time will tell if the 5th star is coming. This is a well made cooktop that would be welcome in any kitchen.

Difficult to clean the cheap stainless steel. Always liooks dirty. The the cooktop never looks clean. CHEAP stainless steell and the frigidaire microwave is above the cooktop and if the cooktop was used we burn our hands on the microwave handle. Lennar and frigidaire only care about $ not us( the consumers that are forced by builders like LENNAR to use cheap appliances/products)

We had this stovetop installed about three weeks ago and so far it is excellent. Very powerful and hot, the center burner boils water very quickly, and gets a stir fry going in no time. Eventually one has to move off that center burner for more normal cooking. When using the simmer burner, it is best to put it down to the lowest setting. It is also fairly easy to keep clean, we use a sponge only, with a small amount of dishwashing soap if needed. Overall, a very good stovetop for the money and nice looking too.

1st cooktop was installed, and my wife sensitive nose smelled gas. Installer was not able to find or smell the leak. Started cooking and the flame jumped from one burner to the other with a flash and bang.Frigidaire authorized a replacement, and this one is a 5 star cooktop.The first one should have been tested better.

Spacious and powerful but hard to keep clean

We just moved into a new house and have been using this cooktop for a little over a month. So far, the burners are very powerful and it's been nice and spacious for cooking.Cleaning it has been a different story. The knobs don't come off, so when trying to wipe them down, I often end up inadvertently turning the gas on. Also, the black tops of the gas part stain very easily. I don't cook that much, but there are already burnt on stains that are almost impossible to remove (have used Bar Keep's friend, Bon Ami, Method Degreaser, Mrs. Meyer, and baking soda to try and remove, to no avail).

We purchased this cooktop as a replacement for our 12 year old Kenmore glass top which was also made by Frigidaire. My wife is very pleased with its overall appearance and functionality with five burners and the control knobs positioned at the front. Unlike on the old cooktop, the burners are sealed so no spills would get under the stainless steel top.

We purchased our new home that had this product installed. We enjoyed it for over a year with no issues until one of the knobs broke. The knobs come off/on very easily. As I have seen in other reviews here, the knobs seem to be cheap plastic. When I called customer service there was nothing they could do for me as it was greater than a year (no longer under warranty). I inquired as to why the price of a knob was almost $60 + shipping cost? The customer service representative refuted me with, "Well I have seen knobs go for a lot more than that." I am utterly upset at the quality of the knobs and the customer service that Frigidaire produces.

We are so glad to have replaced our older gas cooktop with this one. The contiguous grates make it easy to move pots, and the center burner is quite versatile on reduced heat. The unit burners came perfectly adjusted, and for some reason (perhaps added grate height above the flame) the units cook quickly and evenly, actually speeding up cooking time. A great value, and easy installation.

Hard to Clean!

Although I love how the cooktop cooks, the sealed burners have developed a 'Yellow stain' around them. It's only a few months old. I am unable to get this off and am not certain what cleaning product to use that will not damage the surface. I've tried everything I can think of with no luck. It's only a few months old and looks like it's 20 years old already. I did not have this problem with my last cooktop, which was, in fact, 18 years old.

Switching from our old JennAire to this gas cooktop was a great buy. We wanted more burners, and we got 5 instead of 2 dedicated to cooking and the other dedicated to grill area. With this cooktop, you have 4 burners for various pot sizes and ahuge burner in the middle for those large pots. And the price? Incredibly reasonable! We bought ours at Lowe's, and it was on sale and our installation was done quickly considering the installer shortage that was going on.
