A good cost wise budget refrigerator

If you™™re looking for a frig that fits a small budget, this one will fit your needs.Let™™s start with some of the complaints about noise, the compressor and condenser fan are quiet, very quiet. This unit is placed in a kitchen which is open to the Livingroom and I cannot hear the frig running while watching TV at normal volumes or for that matter, playing music too. What was not quite and annoying, a vibrating rubbing type noise, which I discovered emanating from the evaporator cover in the freezer compartment ™ an easy fix by using your thumb to apply a little pressure to the center top edge of cover. Apply just enough pressure to slightly bend the cover inward ™ worked like a charm. Next noise came from the freezers wire shelves, resolve for me, I moved the shelves so that equal amounts of the stems are now inserted into the shelves mounting holes. Best resolve for the freezer shelves is to find some 3/8 polytube and make some gromets to reduce the size of the mounting holes or ¼™ rubber end caps inserted onto the end of the shelf™™s stems. Please keep in mind that other noises can come from items on the frig - side such as bottles and jars rubbing. Now onto fit and finish, the toe kick grill does not clip into the bottom freezer door hinge, the lock pin on this hinge to far to the left. Here too, it™™s about product finish issues with me ™ I did not move the hinge, but did add a piece of 3/4™ masking tape to the bottom of the toe kick and the cabinet to hold it in place with the hopes that the plastic will give over time. The real fix would be to adjust the location to the bottom freezer door hinge to the right ™ not up to doing that at the moment. When delivered, delivery persons did not setup the unit correctly. You may need to adjust the front legs of the unit, so the front roller wheels are just of the floor. After leveling the unit, you™™ll need to adjust the doors ™ my frig door was a 1/2™ lower than the freezer door. Follow the adjustment instruction for your frig, they are correct. As for Finish, ice and water dispenser look great and function well, but the water dispenser will leave a couple of drops of water in the catch tray if you remove your glass to fast after filling. Other misses, the top of the freezer door was not bent correctly, seems like the brake die might need to be re-milled or a closer check by Q.C. on radius. There™™s a few of spots where to much foam insulation might have been sprayed into the cabinet ™ not and issue really, more about the appearance of the top and sides not being truly flat. The temperature controls are easy to use and very accurate, the ice maker works great. What they don™™t tell you in owner™™s manual about the ice maker is ™it will not work until the freezer compartment has reached its operating temperature™ ™ good feature, but would be nice to know before calling tech help, which had no idea of why the ice maker was not running. Again, I had to figure this out on my own. Yes, I like the frig. Works better than my $2,000 LG lasting only two years. With just a couple of minor quality control fixes and four dollars in gromets. Frigidaire could have the best budget frig on the market.
