Nice features

My GE stove top replaced a Kenmore. The GE is a little more work to keep clean in terms a of streak marks. Also temperature controls seem to be a little off on a couple of burners. On low setting when cooking it heats on a higher setting. Still adjusting to the GE!

We love all of our GE Appliances. We originally wanted the flat electric cooktop (with no knobs) but we couldn't wait the 4 months it would have taken to deliver, so we purchased this one (with knobs) I like the size of the various heating elements, they heat up quickly and cool down quick also.

Disappointed Overall

Having the largest burner at the back of the stove behind the dials is inconvenient. The "warming" burner is a wasted element. It doesn't heat at all unless on HIGH, and even that takes minutes to warm up. The cooktop is very sensitive to cookware as it's recommended not to use curved-bottomed pans, enamel coated or cast iron. Cleaning the cooktop requires special cleaners. I like the rapid boil and ability to adjust heat to the size of the pan on the large element.

I love my stove top, makes my kitchen look professional, but and there is always a but, glass top is hard and alot of work to keep clean. It spots very easy and some cannot be removed. I have tried all recommend products and nothing seems to work.

I replaced a Miele 10 year old electric cook top

I prefer the knobs over the digital option. The coils heat evenly and quickly. All of my kitchen appliances are GE so I looked at GE first for the replacement. The glass top cleans up easily. The one little negative is that the knob numbers require a fair amount of light to be seen. They are silver. Bright white would be better for me.

I was misled by the appliance store I purchased this cooktop from into believing older style coil cooktops are no longer being made. Not true. Some of us prefer basic equipment over shiny new technology. I've had the glass type style of cooktop in a previous house and did not care for it as I was limited in compatible cookware and they're generally a pain to take care of and easy to scratch. After a months long wait for delivery for the GE, I find exactly what I wanted previously at a local home improvement store by a competing manufacturer. I'll be selling the GE and installing the old style cooktop instead. My bad. I should have done better homework prior to wasting my money on a bad purchase.

I am very disappointed in my new stovetop. First of all, it took almost 2 months to finally get the product. After numerous calls my husband made, a date was finally arranged only for us to find out that was only a delivery date!! The delivery and installation did not even happen on the same day!! When it was delivered, my mom was hesitant to sign for it because she said "how do I know it's okay and not broken?" She was told that we had 2 hours to report if anything was wrong with it. 2 hours?! Seriously?!! Then you have to make arrangements for the installation which means trying to make arrangements for someone to be here since me and my husband both work. My stepson ended up having to help the installation technician because no other technician was able to come with him & it takes two people to take it out of the box since it's glass. My husband sent me a picture of it when it was taken out of the box and installed & it's black! Nobody even asked me what color I wanted!!! I certainly didn't want black. It does not match my refrigerator or dishwasher. It is the only black appliance I have!!! It shows every fingerprint, every smear, every smudge, etc. I'm really not impressed with how the burners work either. Not very pleased at all.

We gave the salesman the exact measurements of the old GE stove top. The new one did not fit correctly so we had to hire a carpenter to redo the cabinet to make it fit. After all that is said and done, the stove top looks great and works fine!

The warming zone coil doesn't turn red

I had my cooktop installed and all the burners light-up red, except the warming zone. I see in the picture online, it depicts the warming zone burner with a red coil. I have put the warming zone burner on high for 1 hour and it still doesn't turn red. It does warm up though. So, I am not sure if it is working properly or not.

There wasn't a manual included. Found it online but it is generic to most models. No explanation as to which knob controls which burner. We assumed the knob position corresponded with burner position. Spending a beautiful day at GE customer service trying to figure out the features.
