Purchased this fridge in 2021 primarily for that craft ice. The honeymoon period was great about a year. Then we started having problems with the craft ice maker. After speaking with technical service at LG we were able to reset the unit and get it to work for about 2 months. At that time the problems returned. The craft ice maker would not dispense the ice balls and would make a loud grinding/clicking noise as it attempted to do so. We purchased an extended warranty from Allstate through Home Depot. I contacted them they advised me to reach out to LG for parts. LG sent me a new ice maker. I paid a licensed technician to install it $150 which Allstate has yet to reimburse. Because LG had sent the new ice maker your service started to text me. After explaining the entire series of events you offered to send one of your technicians to rectify the issue. That service was scheduled on November 16 between 8am 12 noon. To date November 30 I have yet to have a service technician attempt to come contact me or respond to messages I left on the number I was given. Your system keeps reaching out to see if all is well but no action is being taken. This is my first..and last..LG appliance to purchase. The only reason for rating this product a 2 is that the balance of the unit keeps food cold just like refrigeration has been doing for decades.

Great refrigerator if you like to hear banging noises that wake you up in the middle of the night. The ice maker has been replaced twice and still makes horrible banging sounds.

Have had it for 3 years and have had issues with the Ice sphere maker had it replaced twice already it was one of the selling points for my partner since she likes to make cocktails at home so other than that the fridge itself is great.

I have already had two problems with my refrigerator. To begin with just a few months after I had purchased it the back panel had to be replaced because frost was forming on the food that was in my freezer. It was still under warranty so LG paid for the repair. Then 2 years later I had to replace the fan because it was not working properly. Every time it would turn on it there was an occasional extremely loud sound coming from the refrigerator. The part was not under warranty so I had to pay to have it repaired. I am definitely not satisfied with this product. I shouldnt have to purchase an extended warranty on an expensive elite product. All of the fancy gadgets dont make up for the quality and price of the refrigerator. . My last refrigerator lasted ran for 18 years and I never had an issue with it.

Buyer Beware

After 3 months started getting error messages consistently. LG told me how to get rid of message. After 11 months of owning wouldnt stay cold. Contacted LG again and then the store where I purchased the refrigerator got no response. Had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get anyone to call me back to set up a repair. The repair kept getting delayed because they couldnt get the part. Took about a month before they were able to replace the fan.

the space in the fridge is great lots of shelving and everything is moveable. Love the freezer also very roomy. Ive had a lot of problems with the craft cube maker the door cube maker doesnt make a lot of ice and the water dispenser is slow. Also the flap on the left hand door broke 2 weeks after I got it and doesnt always close the seam between the two french doors when I close it.

A solid unit

We bought a set of LG appliances when remodeling our kitchen including a counter depth refrigerator with two French doors for the fridge and lower freezer. It has been working for a little over a year. Its a good reliable unit but they cut a few corners and it requires a bit of maintenance. The good - flexible shelves nice storage drawers good ice/water dispenser in the door attractive stainless steel front. The less good - ice makers can be temperamental but there are good videos to reset / adjust the air filter cover is really cheap plastic and broke the first time I change the filter. Overall a good unite but a few changes would make it great

We bought our new LG Fridge a few months ago - like most items we wanted to try everything first before making an assessment - and now we can - it is AMAZING It looks great fits into our kitchen seamlessly and keeps our food fresh and at the perfect temperature. Beyond that we were surprised by the craft ice maker - we didnt even know it was an option when we first bought it but oh boy What a hit Its perfect for the kids drinks adult drinks and just to show off - who that a refrigerator could be fun

Craft ice replacement

We needed to replace the craft ice maker. The fridge was still under warranty. I called the service number and someone helped me through several forms. My proof of purchase from Costco was key. I opted for self repair so they sent the replacement ice maker and a water filter as an incentive. The only difficulty was finding a YouTube video for how to do the repair. It was a little tricky but it worked and we have spherical balls of ice again. Hurray

Extremely Disappointed

We purchased this refrigerator in September of 2022. We were very happy with it until it started leaking water from the icemaker around April or May of 2023. It turned out that the source of the leak was the icemaker as the ice was melting and would leak out of the dispenser. In addition there was an error code that showed on the display and when this showed the panel was completely disabled. This meant no water as well. Very frustrating. I contacted customer service and was told that this is a common issue serious problem and the way to fix it was to unplug the fridge remove all food and let the fridge defrost. This was infuriating as it I have never experienced this with any other refrigerator and this was a huge inconvenience to remove all food and move to the old fridge. Luckily we retained the old fridge and was able to do this. Well this solved the problem temporarily. Several months later the very same issue showed up again. The error message pops up intermittently and the dispensers and panel are inoperable for a few days until it decides to work again. Unfortunately the fridge is now out of warranty as it just expired in September of this year. Now we are stuck with an expensive fridge that doesnt work properly and weve only owned it for little over a year. Needless to say we will never buy another LG refrigerator.E

Low quality door ice maker

My refrigerator is 16 months old. The ice maker on the door quit working. The warranty for the door ice maker is 1 year. The ice maker in the freezer is 3 years old. It would appear this is a known issue. Cost to repair is $400.

I bought this product for the craft iceball maker but it has failed twice. The first time took months for the repair to be done. The service provider ordered the wrong part and then delivered it to the wrong address. The second repair went better but the iceballs are not fully round and have a flat top. Additionally the regular icemaker constantly clumps and stops dispensing the icebox must be removed and the clumped ice loosened free.

I am very pleased overall with my refrigerator. I love the look of it inside and out. It seems more spacious than my previous counterdept fridge. My only complaint is the size or the positioning of the water and door ice descender. There is so much space between the bottom of the despenser and the actual way the ice and water comes out. I am having water and cubes escape to the floor more than with any other refrigerator.

Bought this fridge about 2 years ago. Main reason was for its craft iceball maker. Unfortunately that feature has stopped working twice and had to be repaired. First repair service was delayed due to various problems with the service provider went to wrong home address wrong part shipped unavailability of part which took months to resolve. 2nd repair was better service but keeping my fingers crossed that problem doesnt happen again. My son has the same craft iceball maker problem with his LG fridge. Also regular icemaker tends to clump up at the right side of ice container. You have to remove container to shake loosen the clumped ice.

Frequent Error Codes

Product looks elegant and fun to own for a year and a half until error codes popped up about ice maker fan stopped working. Talked to customer service and was recommended to wait for auto-defrost or manually defrost. Auto-defrost after 16 hours didnt fix it. I had to buy another smaller freezer as a backup and remove all the food to defrost for 12 hours. The freezer wasnt even 80 full. Error codes now disappeared. I believe its a flawed design that I now found from other similar owners on Facebook. The water filter reset button worked once and now doesnt work. Customer support said I have to wait for 6 months. It works but the Replace Water Filter warning is an irritant. The fridge has caused me many sleepless nights.

Do not buy this refrigerator. We have had 3 repair visits in 4 months. Ice maker Fan different error codes. Technician will visit unplug plug back in. Error goes away then another error pops up. LG does not want to replace this refrigerator. Have taken time off work lost food lost time. Do not recommend. Look for an alternative.

We bought this fridge almost 1 year ago and we really liked it until the ice maker in the door starting acting up. Initially it was making less ice but one day it just stopped making ice altogether and had to be replaced be a service company. Within a week of it being replaced it started freezing up and we had to unplug the fridge for hours at a time to get it to start working again. Not ideal that we have to keep managing it. Service has been less than ideal as well. Repair of the fridge was relatively quick but received a somewhat threatening email when we submitted another request for service when it started freezing up saying make sure we had completed all the trouble shooting tips or we could be liable for the cost of a service visit. Havent yet had a response to our second service request.

I have owned this refrigerator for just under 3 years and have loved it. The Craft Ice Maker serves up CLEAR Ice Balls with no effort at all My beverage guests are so jealous. The self- contained ice maker in the door is a better design than the cubes stored in the freezer kind. It is easy to access to collect ice for a party and it makes lots fast when requested. The fridge tells me when to replace the filters they are easy to do. I use the OEM water filters for leak and problem free replacement. LG Customer Service was excellent on a recent service call.

Works well. Bottom freezer has issues. Ice ball machine does not dispense ice without making a tremendous pounding noise and often even after all the racket there is no ice. We turned it off. Freezer door also appears to not always seal so we deal with frost on everything. Yet sometimes there is no frost. SO MANY CALLS FOR SERVICE and the best we got was an email telling us to put towels around the bottom of the refrigerator and defrost it. Thanks LG. Super helpful. No repair available in my area which is a fairly large metropolitan area. In the end we should have chosen another product.

Unreliable Refrigerator

This refrigerator is now about 2 years old. Since I have owned it it has is had 2 compressors installed Craft ice maker replaced control board replaced and the ice maker in the door replaced. This unit cant be depended on with any kind of food quantity thinking it might fail while we are not home. I would not recommend buying an LG refrigerator.

I love this refrigerator. The Craft Ice automatic ice ball maker is a phenomenal success. My friends are all jealous of my ability to serve cocktails with ice balls instead of cubes with no extra effort on my part. The shelfs and door containers are easy to adjust and remove for cleaning. The shelves in the freezer are easy to maneuver and hold a lot of frozen foods. This is the shelf depth model which was necessary in our kitchen design and I would say that the volume is sufficient for two people in the household. We have a secondary fridge in the garage for things like beers and extra storage which this unit would not accommodate. I love the communication between the fridge and my phone app letting me know when to replace my filters and when a service call was needed. The Craft Ice maker sent a code that was not resolved on the phone so LG customer service sent a technician and replaced the unit with an updated one quickly and without charge. Overall previous reviews of this brand as it entered the market were mixed I consider the purchase and use 5 Stars so far. I have owned it for just under 3 years.

One reason I chose to purchase the LG refrigerator was its claim of quiet operation and I love that it is indeed very quiet I like the rest of its features as well. The craft Ice maker quit working after only about three months. LG quickly replaced it as it was under the one year warranty and it was easy to install but of course I question the long term reliability of the refrigerators components now.
