Nice looking and sleek

Our new Samsung microwave has been installed for a few weeks now and as a whole I much prefer it over our old one that was from a different manufacturer. One think I like the most is that the Samsung 4201 looks sleek and matches the finish of our refrigerator. Most of my pros and cons are similar to my husbands, however I do have a couple that differ. PROS: - Heats evenly - The inside is easy to wipe clean when necessary - Dishwasher safe turntable glass tray CONS: - The black button screen can be difficult to clean - Takes a little more time to reheat food than our previous microwave Overall this seems like it will be a good microwave for many years to come. (Hope I didn't jinx us by saying that) If you need a basic microwave that hangs on the wall then this is one I recommend.

Microwave meets Toaster Oven

Overall, if you are looking for a great looking smart microwave that can double as a toaster oven, look no further. This thing is a beast. The Microwave performance and features are top notch. I replaced the generic stainless-steel microwave that was put in by the home builder. I didn't realize how bad my old microwave was until I experienced this one. My old microwave would cook food unevenly which led to hot and cold spots in my food, this was painfully obvious when heating up leftovers. This microwave cooks evenly and is slightly faster than my old one. I've cooked pop-corn, potatoes, bacon, and leftovers, all cooked exceptionally well. The black stainless-steel exterior looks very elegant and sleek. It integrates nicely into our new home and matches our other appliances well. Not having a handle looked really weird to me at first and it was somewhat awkward opening the door. But now I really love the look and have gotten use to opening the door using the side grove. While the stainless-steel portion is 'fingerprint resistant', I can't say the same for the touch buttons, they get finger prints very easily. This seems true across all microwaves, unfortunately this one is no exception. I love the fact that this microwave connects to SmartThings, it allows for smart features. The best of which is that the clock is always synced. I live in a new neighborhood with a lot of construction nearby which seems to cause random power outages in the middle of the night every few months. It got annoying having to re-set the clock on my old microwave over and over (not it's fault, but it was annoying). Connecting to SmarThings allows me to get notifications on my phone when the microwave finishes things like defrosting which is nice since I tend to get distracted (so is the life with kids). I tried to connect it to a Samsung smart range I have so that the fan would automatically come on, but I've had no luck. My range is a few years old, so it may just not be compatible. The Convection over portion is nice and it can easily double for a toaster oven, I least in my opinion. At first, all the additional cooking options seemed a little overwhelming, but I'm slowly trying different things, and so far, it's been good. I cooked bacon and potatoes and it's done well relative to my experience with a toaster oven. I'm planning to try to bake cookies next. The cheat sheet section behind the door is a nice touch, it makes it easy to refence how to cook different foods.

This microwave is a great addition to my samsung range. I was able to connect it to my range allow the fan to function automatically when using the cooktop! I love the different modes it provides to cook a variety of food types. The adequate power means I am spending less time reheating my favorite foods. With the connection to smart things I can set it and walk away and know when my food is heated to eat.

Works really well. Only 2 things slightly disappointed by. 1. Slim fry feature not like an air fryer takes longer to cook then air friers do. 2. If you cook with rack the microwave does not cook as fast which has no documenting explaining that. Trial and error helped me to figure that out.

I love the notifications that I receive from them and especially how the vents on the microwave turn on when the stove is in use. I will start out by saying that I have never owned anything Samsung before. I've always owned other "standard" brands. With that said though, this is an all new experience. I was pretty hesitant in this buying process after reading a few bad reviews but also seeing that Samsung was willing to help and it seemed as if people only wanted to complain. I am very pleased with this microwave. It's 'Slim Fry' setting is amazing with frozen fries and chicken wings. I've also realized that it seems to cook very evenly without having any areas left out. We did do our whole kitchen Samsung appliances, so this was the cherry on top!

I bought this as an upgrade to go with a new stove I ordered. I was able to install it myself, as instructions are clear. It looks fabulous and syncs with my new stove to automatically turn the ventilation on and off with the burners. When Daylight savings came it was a quick button on my phone to sync the time. Definitely pricey and felt like a little bit of a splurge but the multifunctions (grill, oven) make it worth the cost.

Not easy to learn to use but works well

I have to say that it took me a long time to be willing to try any features other than the standard microwaving feature because of the insufficient instructions that came with the microwave. I tried looking up help online and couldn't find much either. After a little trial and error, I found some of the other features to be nice. First of all, the regular microwave works great as expected. Second, I have used the slim fry feature to cook up some yucca and it was delicious. I have made cookies with the convection oven feature and felt they took longer than expected but otherwise came out well. The microwave is very easy to clean. I could not figure out how to connect it to smart things or to my wifi.

We purchased this to get rid of the convention toaster oven an air fryer.. works great but keep your list of what tray or rack you will need to use. Only downside is that it's very dark inside. The fan is super powerful and the lights over the stove are super bright.

I have had my Smart Over-the-Range Microwave with Convection & Slim Fry for almost a year now. It took me a while to get used to the electronics, but I now love it. I use it more than I use my regular Smart Samsung dual door stove and oven,(which I also love). I really like the SmartThings App…I can program the mode and cooking temps and time from my smart phone, and it alerts me when finished cooking. I would purchase again!

Very Advance Microwave oven

This Samsung is a great fit with my whole Samsung smart kitchen. The main issue we had with the previous brand was the exhaust not being powerful enough , but I tell you what this thing is a beast. No smell or leftover odor anymore. Slim fry is a great feature it's similar to a air fryer setting. Like all new Samsung tech this Microwave has the bixby voice command wear you can link it through Was up and set timer through voice command. The stainless steal look has a great finish to it and goes super well with all other appliances. The ceramic interior will cause less to no scratches on the I side. Overall my family and I love this Samsung addition to our kitchen!

I have had my microwave for a time now and have been amazed on all the functionality this 1.7 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Convection Microwave has to offer. To start the look of Black Stainless Steal is beautiful, finger resistant and sleek. The design of the door makes it very easy to open and you don't have to worry about a handle that sticks out. I also love the WiFi capabilities and notifications. This is especially important when multitasking chores and cooking in the microwave, the WiFi capabilities will let you know on your mobile devise when your food is done. Now onto the cooking functionality: 1. Slim Fry option: This is great feature, I tried French fries and it came out great and is much healthier than frying in oil! 2. Convection Cooking: I love that I don't have to hear my house up to cook in the oven for smaller meals. This feature works amazing and cooks food perfectly. 3. Inside Door Panel: provides a list of settings to program so you don't have to memorize them. Great quick reference. 4. All the racks/Trays: There is a quick reference booklet that this came with it to breakdown how to use these racks/trays and positioning them during cooking. This is a life saver. Don't lose it! 5. Interior: This is a ceramic enamel blue interior that is very easy to clean and beautiful in color. 6. Eco Feature: To save on energy it also has an eco feature by selecting will turn off the time light display to save energy when not using. I must say I highly recommend this 1.7 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Convection Microwave - Black Stainless for all you cooking needs. It's so universal and has exceeded my expectations. Way to go Samsung!

Smart Microwave

We decided to upgrade our previous Samsung Microwave and what an improvement with the features. We chose the black stainless finish which is so smooth and elegant looking. An added feature with this finish is that it's fingerprint resistant. They keypad is a soft touch and doesn't need much of any pressure to select your settings. The display is a nice lit up blue color that matches our Samsung stove. The under lighting is a nice bright white that allows me to see what I'm cooking on the stove. The exhaust fan is amazing and has three settings which is powerful and not as loud. This microwave has convection cooking built in and we have been able to bake, roast, and broil meals. One of the major features we like is the slim fry option - abling us to make french fries for our daughter in the microwave. It comes out nice and crispy and she loves it! Being that this is a smart microwave it has smart connectivity where I can control and monitor the microwave from the smart things app. This is a great feature as I can put my food to heat up and go do something else in the mean time and then I get a notification on my watch or phone when the cook time is over.

We love our new smart microwave! It is the most easy to use microwave have ever owned. The simple but elegant design is gorgeous. The microwave is stainless steel and fingerprint resistant, which makes cleaning very easy. It has limitless possibilities. We have only owned it for a few weeks now, but are looking forward to utilizing all of its features. It has preprogrammed settings to cook various kinds of food at the perfect temperature and time. We love the Slim Fry setting. This allows up to have the tastiness and texture of fried foods without all the hassle and mess of actually having to deep dry them! We downloaded the Samsung Smart Appliance app and connected the microwave to it with ease. Our kitchen just got a serious upgrade! The light underneath the unit shines bright and beautiful. We use it as a nightlight to keep the kitchen slightly lit throughout the night. We really like this microwave and couldn't be happier! This unit stands alone from others on the market because of it's size and versatility. This microwave has plenty of power, rated at 1000 watts. It even has a power saving mode, which allows you to save energy when it is not in use. This is a true 10/10 across the board from us! We love it!

I received my microwave a few weeks ago. I am still amazed at all it can do. I was able to try out the voice command, I love it. I was playing around with it and my son was like, so now just about everything in your home is going to be SMART, my response, YES, is there a problem. I tried some fries with the slim fry and was amazed again. I did not think my fries would be this crispy. Using this features is really great for me because it allows me to have fried foods without the mess of oil, on my fingers or in the pan, and they are healthier. It also, keeps the food moist on the inside. I purchased some frozen grilled vegetable, I would normally put on the grill in the pan provided, this time I tried the convection part for this. It heats my food from the outside in and its uniform. Pizza, I preheated the microwave and put the pizza on the rack, OMG it was sooo good. I have to say I love this microwave, it makes life easier, cooks healthier foods and does it quick. I look forward to more awesome dishes. I still have lots of foods to try, but I'm confident there won't be any issues with the quality of the food, just operator error. 

Super microwave

This microwave looks very elegant and sleek. The overall design with the hidden handle completes the look and makes it very modern. It looks amazing in my new kitchen. The black stainless steel adds an additional upgraded touch to the entire look. The ceramic interior and the LED lights compliments it perfectly. It is definitely bigger and more spacious than my previous microwave. Also, when it works, it is very quiet which is also a huge upgrade compared to my old appliance. Lastly, the beeping noises it makes when your food is done are pleasant to the ear compared to my old microwave which was very loud and obnoxious. My favorite feature of this microwave is the SlimFry. I was able to cook fries and chicken nuggets which were one of the best ones I've had: very crispy and not dry at al. In addition, some of the additional great features are the ability to do a steam clean, do auto cook or "keep warm." Moreover, another feature that I have used extensively was the ability to connect this microwave and use it via the Smart Things app. By doing so, I am able to get a notification when my food is ready, which comes in very handy while running around after my toddler. Because of this app, I now never forget about my warmed up meal which I used to do constantly when caring for two small children. Overall, this Samsung 1.7cu ft. Over-the- Range Convection Microwave with WiFi is awesome and I cannot wait to further use it to its full potential. I recommend this appliance to all my family and friends.

Our New Go To Cooking Appliance

This is hands down the best microwave we've ever owned. This thing has so many cooking modes that you'll be hard pressed to find something that you can't cook in it. We've microwaved dishes to heat them quickly, we've cooked crispy chicken using the convection oven feature, we've cooked chicken nuggets with the slim fry feature, we've baked cakes, and we've defrosted frozen meats quickly and safely. Each meal has come out awesome. Since we can use this as a convection oven, we've used this most of the time instead of the oven to keep the house cooler. The fan on the microwave turns on automatically to exhaust hot air and keep the house much cooler than when using a normal oven. Plus, the convection oven circulates heat so well that meals cook a bit quicker too. In addition to the many cooking features, this thing looks amazing and we've received many compliments on it. The microwave looks so sleek without a handle sticking out front, it's smooth and flows with the rest of the kitchen so nicely. While there's no tactile feel with the buttons, they're very responsive and have performed perfectly. The buttons are flush with the microwave adding to the nice looks. If you have a smart home setup, you'll be happy to know that this microwave integrates with that and with the Samsung Smartthings app. You can setup cooking modes from within SmartThings and send them to this microwave. You'll also be notified when your food is ready on your phone if you're in another room helping your kid with homework or watching the game on TV. These features are so helpful and you'll appreciate them integrated into your microwave. Oh, I also want to note that this microwave comes with some awesome and useful accessories. The enamel backing pan has been used on almost every meal we've made. It helps meals cook evenly and crispy, while also being easy to clean. Thanks for including that Samsung! We've had a ton of fun testing out different types of recipes in the microwave and been pleasantly surprised at how well they've turned out. If you're looking for a kitchen appliance that can cook a ton of different foods quickly and easily, I highly recommend this super microwave.

This Samsung 1.7 cu ft. Smart Over-the-Range Microwave with Convection & Slim Fry™ in Black Stainless Steel is a GREAT addition to my kitchen. I am impressed with the design, the color and how perfectly it matches my other Samsung appliances. The Black Stainless Steel color is a classic look and blends easily with my kitchen décor. I was able to setup the microwave very easily thru the Smart Things app. The app recognized the microwave and all I had to do was complete the quick setup. I love all the feature such as Slim Fry, Keep Warm & Auto Cook, just to name a few. The ceramic enamel interior looks great and any messes won't be easily seen and cleaning in the inside is as simple as a quick wipe. The fan is not noisy and the lights illuminate the space beneath very well. The premium design is very eye catchy and a focal point in my kitchen. I am thoroughly impressed with how quick, easy and simple it is to use the microwave. The Slim Fry option is a BONUS and works very well and my fries were crisp, evenly cooked and tasty. I am impressed with the notifications I receive thru the Smart Things app when the microwave finishes cooking/heating/warming my food. The communication amongst all the Samsung Smart products as this microwave is takes cooking to a whole new level. Being able to turn the Turntable On/Off is nice and the interchangeable plate included is another bonus as well as the wire stand. Overall, this Samsung - 1.7 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Convection Microwave with WiFi is AWESOME and compliments any kitchen and suite of Samsung Smart products.

Awesome mircowave

I have used this for several weeks and I have to tell you I am so impressed at all it can do. Lot's of bells and whistles for sure. I love the voice command. Nothing better than to be able to tell it want to do when your hands are full. It took me a few I must admit to figure out all the different option available, But once I did it was a breeze. Then to be able to roast a chicken and not have the kitchen get warm. The SlimFry feature is one of my favs too. I have a busy household with 7 people here and it just flows easy. They all have used it and love it too. I almost don't need a range with with all the extras. With the holidays coming it is going to be wonderful to have a extra oven! I really don't have anything to say negative about this product. Thank you Insider's for allowing me to review this microwave. From a family of 2 or a full large family this be a great pick for your home. I almost forgot add. It cleans itself! :)

Loving my new microwave

I recently had the new 1.7 cu. ft. Over The Range Convection Microwave installed in my home. I have to say that it looks amazing and fits in perfectly with the rest of my appliances. It is so much better than the one I had before. I didn't realize how much I would appreciate having the larger microwave. There are many things I like about his unit. First, I like the way it looks in my kitchen. It is sleek and was easy to install. Next is the functionality. I am really enjoying the slim fry option. Cooking French Fries or Chicken Nuggets for the kids are a breeze with this option. The warmer is super helpful when I am cooking a large meal and don't want one of my dishes to get cold. The lights and fan functions work great when I am cooking on my cooktop. These lights make seeing what I am cooking so much better, and the fan keeps the steam away so that I can actually see my food while I am cooking it. They have also included a Steam Clean option on this microwave which is a huge bonus for me. I used to dread having to clean the inside of my microwave. Now it is so much easier to clean that I can do it more often. My microwave has never looked so clean.

Nightmare Experience

the first delivery of this product was damaged. you could clearly see the box had been dropped prior to delivery but samsung delivered me a damaged product anyway. it took weeks to get a replacement. the replacement item has poor craftsmanship. it was evident that these issues were production quality escapes. the assembly was so bad screws were even falling out due to misaligned interior brackets. and the top shell to the microwave was not aligned properly. there is no option to return online… samsung makes it difficult if there is an issue with the purchase. given the horrid experience this will most likely be the last time i buy directly from samsung.. or any samsung product.

All the bells and whistles

wow you really knocked it out of the park with this microwave. so many bells and whistles it took me a day or two to get it straight. i almost don't need a range. with the heat wave we have going on it was wonderful to roast a chicken and not get the house hot. then the real show stopper is the wifi. the slim fry awesome too, most of the time i cook for two and it is wonderful to have this. i have 7 people in my home an it is a hit with everyone. i would recommend this microwave to everyone from a large family to just a few. it is so stylish and modern looking too... i can't stop gushing to my friends about it!

A Microwave that doesn't Microwave

i have owned this product for less than a week and the microwave function completely stopped after three uses. i tried all of the recommended fixes, and nothing works. presently have to wait a week to have a technician come to assess the problem. even better? i get to unmount this beast less than a month getting it above my range. looks really nice, but essentially this has turned in a very expensive clock/timer.

Waste of money and time

$500 microwave and the light stopped working after 2 months. one would think it would be user friendly for the price but i'm tech savvy and cannot figure out how to change the time on the microwave, very frustrating. i read the manual that came with it and also used the qr code on the microwave itself to locate digital manual and both say to press the "clock" button....there is no clock button!! emphatically discourage anyone from buying this microwave
