Will never purchase any Samsung product again

the appliance looks really nice and is easy to clean but that is about it. the ice maker is constantly frosted over, once or twice a week at minimum. ice also tends to stick in the chute then melts and leaks out the front of the appliance. we ended up purchasing a counter-top ice maker to augment a $$$$ refrigerator. the touch panel is not very responsive and now after the latest tizen 6 update, completely worthless. no way to downgrade back to the previous version. all of the other features that are good about this appliance get lost by the fact it can't make ice and that the touch panel is rendered useless. would not purchase again, would not recommend any samsung product. samsung has made it pretty clear that they don't care to fix the issues with their products.

be aware of lawsuit in file - it will affect you

i own a rf22m9581sg/aa which recently has showed an issue with the ice maker keeps frosting. when i was connected with a customer representative, i complained that the service location that samsung is recommending has a lead time of 2 weeks just to pay visit to run a diagnostic test, and apart from this really long wait i have to endure he describes it as a "courtesy service" so that i should just take whatever samsung or so called a samsung certified service center can provide and be thankful. as matter fact, you should be aware there is a suitcase file due to continuing issues with the ice maker in various models. i would strongly suggest to do some research before purchasing samsung products.

Ice Maker/Dispenser has Never Worked

We purchased this refrigerator in December 2017 as part of a remodel after a house fire that destroyed everything we owned. The ice maker/dispenser never worked. I don't personally care that much, because I'm not a frequent ice user, but my husband, children, and guests would like ice in their drinks. We scheduled a service call and the repair guy showed up, but after tearing the ice maker apart, realized he did not have the right part to fix it. He then left, leaving the disassembled ice machine part (covered in ice and melting on my kitchen floor). He said he needed to get the part and would "be right back". That was in July 2017 and I have never seen him, or any other repair person, again. When one pays nearly $5k for a "top of the line" refrigerator, it seems like a safe bet that it will work as advertised (at least for a little while), but not so with this unit. The bells and whistles of the touch screen are neat, but we rarely use them. Also, there are parts of the design that just don't make any sense. There is one shelf on the left upper door that literally nothing fits in. It's way to thin/narrow to put even a single stick of butter. It's just weird. Other than that, it's a fine refrigerator. I wouldn't say it's worth the price, though, and I wouldn't purchase it again.

Love the four doors

Love the fridge and the option to make one of the bottom doors a fridge or freezer. Buy be ware, we read that the ice makers go on these fridges. Or fridge was delivered on 9/15/18. The ice maker stopped working in less than 5 months. Samsung service was great and came out and replaced the ice maker. The fridge is under warrenty with Samsung for a year. I recommend buying an additional protection plan if you purchase this refrigerator. Family Hub is limited as to what it can do.

Frozen screen!

I bought this at the end of March 2017. The ice make almost immediately kept freezing up and not making ice. I called and Samsung did a solid and replaced the ice maker at no charge. Literally, 2 months later, now the screen doesn't work and the ice maker is freezing up again. They can't even diagnose to fix the ice maker because they need to replace the screen but that will cost $710 plus tax. That's insane...even more so that it is just frozen, it recognizes you are there and has the correct date and time, it just won't accept any input on the screen?? I would avoid the family hub line altogether! This unit cost $5,000 and is still listed on their site at $4,799. No way this high end of a unit should be failing in less than 2 years without any support from Samsung! I expected more from this brand...

Flex refrigerator/freezer

I bought a Samsung Refrigerator a year and a half ago. This refrigerator is for a family of four; but the ice maker does not keep up with the need and it is in constant need of a repairman. We have had the repairman out 3 times already for the same issue and it is starting to do the same thing over again. I would not recommend the purchase of this product or any other Samsung refrigerator that has the same ice maker. I am very disappointed with my refrigerator. Our refrigerator does not have the family hub feature.

Great Looks, Excellent Design, High Cost

I love this refrigerator. I knew i was paying more for the touch screen and I don't even use that many apps but I like mirroring my TV to the screen so i don't miss a play. Having the weather and schedule first thing in the morning is really nice too. What i really love about this fridge is the sleek, functional design. Love it.

Ice Maker is a real problem (slow, small)

I like this fridge - a lot - however, I live in Arizona and drink a lot of water. In a household of only TWO people, the ice bin was empty at 10 this morning. That was three large glasses of water, half filled with ice. I have had the fridge for about a month and I question whether the bin has ever completely filled, but I can promise it has completely emptied just about every day. I use power freeze overnight to try to get it full, but still always run out. If you use ice on a daily basis I would not recommend this model. The storage bin is just too small, and the ice is not made quickly enough. We will be struggling without ice for the rest of today, as we so often do. The other negative is that Pandora only worked the first time we used it. Never since. Otherwise, I like the look and the design and the hub.
