If Only It Worked The Second Time

i have had the product for 30 days. i ran it once upstairs, and then moved it to my basement. all carpet, all flat, with zero obstructions, and somehow the vacuum can never return to the dock. pure junk, not even worth it at 50% off.

it's a great smart vacuum! so far so good in the early goings. i would only suggest that the dust bin be larger. it arrived in a timely fashion and appears to be high quality. the product also looks nice and has a good app, although i'm not sure why it has a remote control too. it also seems quieter than a similar irobot vacuum that this is replacing. it was shipped in a timely manner.

it is quite slow and can't clean corners. if it's dark, it confuses. didn't go up to the area rug by itself so we have to move it up. but it does my work for me and comes with easy cleaning filters.

cannot find a battery to replace the one that is apprently dead. your batteries say they are 10 w but my battery says it is 80w. it is only a year or 18 moos old.

i got this for my wife because out old irobot was worn out. it clogs constantly and stops sweeping with just normal dust and carpet fibers. it stops working and won't find the home base so the battery dies, also the battery only lasts about an hour. i would not recommend to anyone to purchase. if i could give negative stars i would.

i was excited to start using the powerbot. but constantly lost connection and stuck, mapping of the area was bad also. after 1 year, it completely making big noise and not running at all. i own many other samsung products such as: 1. samsung fridge....ice maker keeps freezing up 2. washer and dryer logo faded within 6 months 3. samsung watch trade-in program which they don't honor. (claim the trade-in watch doesn't turn on and my info was not erased....how do they know my info not erased when they cannot turn on the power!!!) i would not buy any samsung again!!!

the motor started making noise within the first 8 months, right before the warranty expired i sent it to samsung and they did a great job manually fixing the vacuum. that is where the good ended. after getting the device back, it would not show up on smart things, although it connected to wifi. i went through tech support who tried fixing for 1.5 hours and basically went through the same steps i did for the previous three hours. so 4.5 hours later, they "escalate" the issue and the next day i get a notice that it is closed and they cannot help. quality control and service has finally slipped to the point that sadly i am starting to look at other brands.

Wide cleaning brush

i like that the brush is wide and suctuon is in front of vacuum. suction seems to be adequate and colectuon bin is easy to empty and clean. what i don't like that it will not go over a black rug in my bathroom. it didnt stop when a dip or drop! the sensors in front of vacuum do not sense my hot water heating radiators and just ram into them constantly. magnetic tapes should be included to set off limit areas. the robot vacuum has difficulty finding charging dock or simply not find it. an exta brush should also be included. for the price i would recommend the product. im think of buying another charging dock for other area of house and magnetic tape. also i removed black rugs from bathroom and take any shag rugs out way when robot is vacuuming.

packaging was in tact and shipped unharmed. it takes a little while to charge. but it seems to work well enough. makes it so we dont have to vacuume all the time ourselves. not to be used as the only cleaning for a floor, but makes it so dust and stuff does not build up

Worst suction ever

i own 13 vacuums and 5 are robot vacs.. i was really was disappointed when the samsung only picked up 1/10th of the other vacuums. after using it there was maybe a tablespoon of dust in the bin.. then i vacuumed with the lower price roomba and the higher priced roomba and their dust bins are full. not to mention their dustbins are huge compared to the samsung. i was really excited to get this vacuum but was sooo disappointed. maybe i got a defective unit i'm not sure. i did a chat with customer service and all she did was tell me how to fix it. which none of her suggestions worked. since it was brand new i would of thought i could of exchanged it for another one that isn't defective.

Extremely disappointed

i always do my research before buying a product and with the reviews i had high expectations. i have all types of flooring (carpet, tile, and wood) and it does ok on the carpet and wood but does terrible on tile. the biggest downfall of the powerbot is it constantly smashes into things. it does not like anything that is black in color. i have black kitchen cabinets and it is constantly smashing into them and scraping along the side of them like it can't see them. also have a rug with black on it that it has issues with as well. overall i'm highly disappointed and i wouldn't waste my money on a powerbot again.

Parts wearout quickly

the powerbot r7040 has some serious shortcoming. it does not allow for scheduling on certain days. for example you can program it to run everyday or manually start. even low end roombas allow to schedule certain days such as run every monday, wednesday and friday. the r7040 has a small dust bin that requires frequent emptying. if you don't empty it frequently it will clog up and run but not clean and it will not give any warning that it is full. the better brush wears out quickly and it can only be ordered from samsung parts and it costs $50 plus shipping and tax each time you need to replace it.

Wifi problem

i've had this vac for one week now, it was really easy to set up and it works really well except it lost connection to my wi-fi and will not reconnect. so far my only complaint is about the wi-fi and i'm not sure if it's a problem with the vacuum or the smart home app.

i've had this for a few weeks now and it is convenient when it works. the majority of the time it runs at night on the schedule i set and i wake up to a clean carpet. it leaves nice lines so you can see that it did its job and i have a dog and it picks up the hair nicely, i just need to empty it daily. the once a week that it has issues, it seems to get stuck for no reason. i'll wake up and the robot is either at the edge of the steps (won't fall down them but doesn't seem to know to turn around and keep going) or it is up against the couch, not caught on anything just seems like the sensor didn't work and it didn't know where to go so it just stayed there until the battery ran out.

Good Looking Bad Performer

purchased looking at the reviews and brand name. also advised my sister to buy this product. with in 2 month we realized that we made big mistake by choosing samsung vaccuam cleaner. cleaning & battery life is very poor, with in 15-25 min battery will drainout.

the robot vacuum lasted a little over a year before needing a repair. since it was under warranty, we sent it to be fixed. about 3 months later (the product now is no longer under warranty) the same issues arise, but now we have to pay to have it serviced. surprised by samsung quality was hoping for their products to last longer. will update with approximate cost to fix poor suction and sensor.......

i love having this new robot vacuum. no more dragging the unwieldy thing out of the closet, unwinding the power cord, and searching for the closest outlet! just push a button and watch it go! only problem so far - the directionssay to place on a flat surface with a straight wall. in my apartment that would mean the kitchen or the entryway. neither are viable options!

the powerbot does not do the job that it should be doing for the price. the battery life has not lived up to its standards, there are frequent errors, the programming has not worked, and even small amounts of debris get stuck in the hole that enters the compartment that holds the waste. the hole entering the compartment is far too small. even if the vacuum returns to the dock after a short period of time to recharge it usually has an issue collecting dust on the floor because it builds up in the small hole despite there being a nearly empty waste compartment.

at the beginning this robot was amazing, i have had it for less than six months and it just starts running not even five minutes later it just stops it doesn't go bakc, literally it just turns off. to be such an expensive item this is so disappointing i was really really excited at the beginning ans now the performance just sucks and i don't even know what to do, since this product is barely working

Lousy dureftion control compared to my Roomba

this has wi-fi connectivity and remote control features except for when it comes to directional control. there, it fails miserably. it's stored at exactly the same spot that i had my old roomba, and it's in a space inside the kitchen. i have an attached living room with corridoors leading off to other rooms. the powerbot consistently refuses to cover the entire kitchen area, and hurries off into the open spaces in the living room and other parts of the house. this leaves my kitchen area uncleaned.contacted samsung support through the chat window but their chat system was buggy and broke down. i think i'm going to return this vacuum.

i only payed $200 for this powerbot r7040 on blackfriday week. the value you get in this unit is incredible. i had neato d3, romba i7+ i like the samsung because is a gentle navigation and the noise level compared to my old neato d3 is minimum. the remote control is a great functionality because you can command the vacuum manually to clean a particular area. the battery life is adequate for 1000 square feet house. if you can get this vacum for under $350 go for it.

i initially bought this for one of my family members and we all loved how it worked. i cleaned the area very well. and for some of the places it could not, we manually cleaned the are with the remote that was included. i just bought this for our home as well. it has 10 watt power so it does its job well.

recieved this as a gift. worked great for about 5 months. then it began to constantly indicate errors and would stop. luckily it was under warranty and samsung repaired it and sent it back. all was well for another month or so until it started smoking and smelling of burnt rubber. this time it was out of warranty (2 months). after calling around it was too expensive to fix. lot of money to spend for a device that barely worked for a year.

i purchased this in march of 2019, used it about 3 times then packed it up and it wasnt used again until after our new house was completed. we used it a couple times a week after that. about 3 months ago, it has stopped working. it will not power on or charge. it does not light up or make a sound. it just stopped in the middle of the cleaning cycle and never came back on

it started great. the whole first floor was cleaned every morning and i was happy. however, after a few months, it started to stop cleaning with c02 error - left wheel error. i cleaned the left and right wheels completely but that didn't matter. every time it stops, it is the same error - left wheel error. that happens when it tries to dock, when it transitions from the hardwood floor to a rug or even when it maneuvers next to a wall. but after one year, that was not the only problem. now, the battery can't handle the whole cleaning cycle and i understand the battery degrades with time. however, it never charges and resume anymore - and when i say never, i mean it. it's been months since it last charged and resume cleaning. every morning it's either stuck with c02 code or dead.

Awful Machine

a first year engineering student could design a better robot. this vacuum consistently loses it's charge before completing the cleaning cycle which means it's always dead in the bedroom. its mapping function must be awful because in my very straight, very simple home it consistently rams into walls and moves in circles like it's stuck in a loop. it entirely defeats the purpose of owning a robotic vacuum since every time i use it i have to move it out of a corner when it gets itself stuck, i have to go find it when it fails to return to it's charging station, and i have to go back and sweep/vacuum everywhere it missed. at this point i own a $500 paper weight and have resorted to sweeping and vacuuming by hand again.

it was "ok" for about 4-6 months. i have an "open concept" ranch with hardwoods, some throw rugs, and lots of dog hair. dog hair often clogged the rollers, such that we were removing and cleaning them just about daily, and it didn't hold as much hair as i'd hoped for the price. still it was better than nothing! however, after the first 4-6 months, i'd come home and find it stuck on a throw rug or butting up against the rocking chair legs, but increasingly with error messages. we'd adjust, redock, wipe clean, etc., and then after about 8 months of use it just died. couldn't wouldn't even take a charge no matter how many times we'd unplug/plug, undock/redock. and for such a limited warranty, i have to wonder if the company doesn't expect much of a lifespan either?

i have been using my powerbot for the past week and it has been excellent experience so far. the bot is very simple to operate and maintain, well constructed with fantastic design points, and easily set on each floor of my 4 floor townhouse for a full house clean while i relax around the house. the bot works relatively quietly and diligently and picks up far more dust and debris than i would normally myself.

Great features that will stop working properly

a gift from last christmas. worked beautifully at first. the charge lasted more than an hour on low suction. it loses power after 15-20 minutes, can't find the base, gets stuck where it never did in the past, runs out of power forcing me to go looking for it and the most serious problem is the terrible squealing/grinding noise that will overpower the tv speaker. a replacement battery is very expensive for a product that sounds like it's tearing itself apart. it wasn't an overnite event where it stopped working well. it has been a steady downhill slide. fyi: i have 100% wood flooring, no carpet! it should love my house. it replaced a different brand robot vacuum that is 4-5 years old and still works great upstairs on the original battery. i guess it will move downstairs again.

Great cleaning tool

love the fact that it remembers the layout of the room and will continuously clean and return to its charger. the downside is the roller broke because of my long hair and because of covid times i'm not able to get a replacement because they don't have parts available online and there's no stores available that have any parts. so right now i have a machine that i cannot use.

i loved the 1 st one so much i bought a second. the only problem i have is sometimes it cant find its way home... the other issue i wish you would have included the remote holdes with the units.

it wont ever actually vacuum the whole area, it wont go over a .4 in ledge and it will forget the map of your house wvery single time it charges and every time you pick it upand the chat wont help or care at all. pleasedont waste your money.

the first month of having thw vacuum was great. it was sucking properly and running great as scheduled. now the vacuum doesnt suck anything up. ive cleaned it out and unclogged it multiple times but still doesnt work. thw scheduled time to run is no longer a schedule. it dies and doesnt even make it back to the charging station. even when put on charging station the battery will blink like its charging but doesnt charge. the vacuum randomly turned on at 4am last week and didnt suck as usual. wake up to see that it had ran over a big and solid pile of poop from the dog and smeared it everywhere throughout the house. this vacuum seemed to be great for the first month but i dont reccomend it if youre looking for a reliable helper. this vacuum is also not compatible for ios users.

the pros so looks sharp the app and remote add excellent functionality. charges and good suction. quiet on normal and still effective the cons very aggressive. maybe it is the sensors but it tends to push things. we have had to remove candlelabras because it made candles fall and break it is a true daily scheduler, it would have been nice to have 7-day scheduling option like my neato. it doesnt learn well. meaning, it almost gets stuck every day on a chair that it backs into. i have to go downstairs to set it level again. you would expect it to learn not to do that.

Stopped working after two years

worked pretty good at first (gets stuck a lot) after two years, it just ... died c02 is my error code, but the wheels work just fine. it just stopped working
